Tigers open Xscape centre CASTLEFORD Tigers' chief will officially unveil the club's new visitors' centre in Xscape this week. Chief executive Richard Wright will open the centre on Monday, which will showcase the plans for the club's new state-of-the-art stadium and bosses hope it will become a hub for Tigers fans. Mr Wright said: "This is an exciting new venture for the club and possibly a first in the game and we are very grateful to Xscape for affording us this facility. "The Xscape complex attracts a huge number of visitors every day and while we feel sure that the centre will be of interest to Tigers fans, it will also enable us to showcase the stadium and the Tigers to a much wider audience." The centre will open daily and show detailed plans of the new stadium, which will be updated as the chosen architect's designs are determined. It will also provide information on up-and-coming Tigers events – both on and off the field – and will sell the club's new shirts when they are in stock from Saturday, December 12. Castleford councillor, Mark Burns-Williamson, and Martin Lea, of the stadium steering group, will also be at the official opening, which takes place from 11am to 2pm. www.pontefractandcastlefordexpress.co.uk/news/Tigers-open-Xscape-centre-.5881301.jp
