Warrington hooker Jon Clarke has been ruled out of Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup final after failing to recover from an ankle injury. But centre Matt King and Mickey Higham are named in Tony Smith's 19-man squad, which has also been hit by the loss of Brian Carney, Paul Wood and Simon Grix. Huddersfield have included Stephen Wild in their squad following a knee injury, but forward Andy Raleigh misses out. Raleigh had been expected to replace injured second rower Danny Kirmond. But the former Hull KR player is short of match fitness, having only just returned from an eight-week lay-off with an Achilles problem. Kirmond's place will now go to either ex-Bradford, Salford and Widnes forward Simon Finnigan or former Wigan winger-turned-back row forward Martin Aspinwall. Clarke suffered a recurrence of an ankle injury in a recent game against Wakefield, so his place could go to Higham, who is set for a shock comeback. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/8221143.stmSquads for Carnegie Challenge Cup final: Huddersfield: B. Hodgson, Aspinwall, K. Brown, Whaturia, D. Hodgson, Fulton, Robinson, Crabtree, Faiumu, D. Griffin, Lolesi, Wild, Finnigan, P. Jackson, Mason, Lawrence, Moore, Cudjoe, Lunt. Warrington: L. Anderson, V. Anderson, Bridge, Briers, Carvell, Cooper, Harrison, Hicks, Higham, Johnson, King, Mathers, McCarthy, Mitchell, Monaghan, Morley, Rauhihi, Riley, Westwood. Referee: Steve Ganson (St Helens).

As a game i was disappointed, as a day out i can now see why people go every year whether their team is there or not.
Think i saw every superleague teams' shirt apart from salford at the game.
Had a really good day out, even though it was an early start. The stadium was impressive, but due to the lack of attendance the atmosphere was a little poor compared with the same number at old trafford, which really seems to hold the atmosphere in better.

Lets get the oaning out of the way first.
The try disallowed for crossing should have been a try, but Briers did a wonderful job of conning the ref instead of making the tackle.
Hicks blatent knock on which we saw from the very back row of the stand (yes the very back row).
BUT
There was one team ready and one team weren't.
Too much lost ball and silly mistakes gave the better team all the possession they needed to complete a very well thought out and constructed game plan.
On the day the best team deservedly won.
On the Experience.
What a fantastic spectical, forget the Rugby but the day out the mass of colours and smells, the banter, the fancy dress, the entire occaision.
There were definately more Wire fans than Giants, the whole of the east side and half the south side was full of wire fans and the giants fans couldn't fill the west end.
Maybe next year! A repeat of '86 ? who knows.
