Second row Clint Newton scored a hat-trick as Hull KR beat Warrington to all but end the Challenge Cup winners' hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Lee Briers threw a dummy to send Mick Higham over as Wolves took an early lead, but Jake Webster cut inside and beat four players to level for Rovers.
Newton rumbled over from halfway and Kris Welham ran 70m as the home side led 22-12 at half-time.
Newton added two more after Peter Fox's breakaway to secure victory for Rovers.
The scoreline flattered Rovers, who recovered from a sluggish start that saw Higham and Tyrone McCarthy score tries in the opening 15 minutes for the visitors.
McCarthy scampered over after breaking two tackles for his first Wolves try, while Briers, who has resumed kicking duties, converted both.
Each Wolves try was matched within three minutes of it being scored, though. Webster danced over before Paul Cooke evaded a couple of tackles to score.
However, Hull KR's third was their stand-out try as Newton charged over from just inside his own half. The second row, who also made more than 30 tackles in the game, ran through Louis Anderson before breaking clear and touching down under the posts as Rovers opened up a 16-12 lead.
And as Wolves looked to restore parity before the break, centre Welham picked up an errant pass from Richie Mathers to extend their lead to 10 points.
Warrington piled on the pressure throughout the second half, but it was another misplaced pass, this time by Briers, that allowed Welham to break again.
This time he fed winger Fox, who ran away from the chasing defence to score his 16th try of the season and put the game beyond the visitors.
Wolves refused to throw in the towel and winger Chris Hicks stepped inside Welham to score.
But any thoughts of a Wolves comeback were ended when Newton powered over from close range twice in the final 10 minutes.

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan:
"Warrington have a hard pack to play against, but I thought we handled them quite well.
"I'm proud of the way we dug in, and there were some good individual performances. Obviously Newton was excellent with three tries, and his first hit on Chris Riley set the tone for the match.
"I still think we've got some improvements. Our form is OK without being blistering. I don't think we're firing just yet.
"We're not done yet - this is only the first phase - but it will have done us the world of good to get that hardened approach back."
Warrington coach Tony Smith:
"It's going to have to take a small miracle to make the eight - which is a bit of a shame because, if we did, I think we could trouble some teams.
"We had a great 'dig', and I'm really pleased with the effort.
"Obviously the scoreline isn't great, but I'm really proud of them for the way they tried. They probably 'over-tried' in a few areas - and that cost us."
